This vintage is abundant with aromas of boysenberry, blueberry and hints of cinnamon. Its dense fruit characteristics are complemented by complex flavors of anise, vanilla and dark chocolate.
Once the grapes were hand-harvested, they were immediately brought to the winery from the surrounding vineyard and de-stemmed. An initial cold soak occurred in one-ton open-top bins prior to the onset of fermentation. Moved to a combination of French (83%) and American (17%) oak barrels, 78% of which were new, the wine aged for 16 months. It was bottled without filtration in February, 2014 350 cases were produced.
Optimal Storage Conditions:
Constant temperature, 55-58°f, darkness.
To enjoy young fruit aromas, consume within 1-3 years of bottling date. For extended aging under ideal conditions, consume within 3-10 years of bottling date.
