Cabernet Sauvignon
Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara, 2016

90 Wine Advocate – 2019
90 Jeb Dunnuck – 2018

Ever since we replanted our Ballard Canyon vineyard over a decade ago we’ve missed this wonderful varietal. Deciding we could wait no more, in 2012 we began searching for the perfect Cabernet Sauvignon Santa Barbara had to offer. Ultimately, we found those grapes at Vogelzang's Happy Canyonclimate of intense summer heat and low humidity and found in it Vogelzang’s Happy Canyon vineyard. Happy Canyon vineyard, located in a Southeastern area of the Santa Ynez Valley. Due to both meticulous viticultural care and a perfect climate of intense summer heat and low humidity, this wine truly stands out! From its nose, color, and combination of elegance, complexity and balance, the oft used saying, “Cab is king!” epitomizes what’s in this bottle!

Our 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon opens with tempting aromas of black currant, tobacco, and anise. On the palate, hints of vanilla, cola, and cherry come together to create a lasting finish.
