2018 Pinot Noir, Santa Catalina Island Vineyards
A match made in heaven! The ‘terroir’ found at Santa Catalina Island’s El Rancho Escondido is unique in the world and its cool climate, morning fogs, ocean breezes and clay/loam soils make it the perfect place for Pinot Noir! In 2007, a blend of French Clones were planted in three small blocks, and due to row orientation and specific location at the ranch, each has its own micro-climate.
This is an elegant, sensual wine with lush texture, revealing sumptuous flavors of Rainier cherry, pomegranate, and cranberry. Burgundian aromatics of forest floor, orange zest, and caramel combine with a delicate softness that lingers on the palate.
